About Osteopathy

Osteopathy, founded by Dr Andrew Taylor Still, is a manual therapy that views the body as an interconnected whole, rather than isolated parts. Dr. Still, dissatisfied with 19th-century medical practices, sought to reform healthcare by focusing on the body's inherent ability to heal itself. He developed osteopathic techniques based on the principle that musculoskeletal dysfunctions can affect other areas of the body, and that addressing these dysfunctions can restore overall health.

Osteopaths, with their detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology understand the concept that areas of dysfunction, far removed from the site of pain can be key to resolving the root cause of pain.
